The Stands We Make

1 Samuel 9:10 "Good," Saul said to his servant. "Come, let's go." So they set out for the town where the man of God was.

1 Samuel 10:20-24 When Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel near, the tribe of Benjamin was chosen. Then he brought forward the tribe of Benjamin, clan by clan, and Matri's can was chosen. Finally Saul son of Kish was chosen. But when they looked for him, he was not to be found. SO they inquired further of the Lord, "Has the man come here yet?" and the Lord said, "Yes, he has hidden himself among the baggage." They ran and brought Samuel said to all the people, "Do you see the man the Lord has chosen? There is no one like him among all the people." Then the people shouted, "Long live the king!"

What was Saul's first big mistake?
1. He didn't trust what God saw in him.

1 Samuel 10:9b God changed Saul's heart...

1 Samuel 11:6 When Saul heard their words, the Spirit of God came upon him in power, and he burned with anger.

2. He became full of Pride.

1 Samuel 10:8 Go down ahead of me to Gilgal. I will surely come down to you sacrifice burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, but you must wait seven days until I come to you and tell you what you are to do.

1 Samuel 13:11-12 When I saw that the men were scattering, and that you did not come at the set time...

GOD CANT FORGIVE WHAT WE REFUSE TO CONFESS.

3. He thought partial obedience was obedience.

1 Samuel 15:13-14 When Samuel reached him, Saul said, "The Lord bless you! I have carried out the Lord's Instructions. "But Samuel said, "What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?"

If we cant be completely committed then we are committed to the faith. We cant be surface Christians we need to be deep and truly showing the heart of Jesus to the world. Actions speak Louder then words. So do something because you believe not because you want to show others that your Christian. We need to put our trust in God and not let the devil get in the way of our beliefs.
